Annual Catholic Appeal
Boundless Mercy: Received, Now Given
Our beloved Pope Francis has declared this the Year of Mercy, reminds us that as we have received God’s boundless mercy, we now have a responsibility to show that mercy, care and concern to others.
With a gift to the ACA, the virtue of mercy is shown to help: feed the hungry; clothe the needy; provide a presence of Christ in hospitals, schools and prisons; strengthen parishes throughout our Diocese; provide funding for social outreach programs; help retired priests as well as educate future priests; and many other programs and services throughout our Diocese.
When you support the Annual Catholic Appeal, you do more than just provide financial support – you change lives.
The goal for the Annual Catholic Appeal this year is to raise $3,850,000. The Annual Catholic Appeal provides almost half of the total projected budget for all Diocesan offices and ministries. Below is a listing of the charities and ministries that receive funding from the Annual Catholic Appeal.
The best way this extraordinary amount of money can be raised is to encourage people to pledge a certain amount and then pay it over several months. All payments must be received no later than December 31, 2016 to be counted in the 2016 Campaign. The Annual Catholic Appeal is the primary way by which the Diocese raises money for its charities and ministries.
Donations to the ACA are RESTRICTED gifts to be used in support of its charities and ministries ONLY and are NOT used to satisfy other Church obligations. The Catholic Foundation is a separately incorporated 501(c)3 entity with a board of directors that oversees the allocation and distribution of donations to the ACA.
