Bequest Language

“How can I repay the LORD for all the good done for me?”Psalms 116:12

A bequest is a provision in your will or living trust that directs a portion of your estate to a named person or charity, such as the Catholic Foundation. The Foundation, an independent, nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation founded in 1981, raises, invests and distributes gifts to support Catholic organizations, ministries and programs in the Diocese of Tucson. The following examples may be used to leave a gift to the Diocese or any parish, school, or Catholic organization in the Diocese of Tucson.

By simply naming the Catholic Foundation in your Will, Living Trust or other testamentary arrangement, you become a member of our Acts of the Apostle Society.

Each individual situation is unique and, therefore, these examples include only some of the possible gift opportunities. We encourage you to share your final will provision with the Catholic Foundation office to ensure that your wishes will be properly followed and recognized. We further encourage you to seek the advice of your attorney and/or financial advisor.

Unrestricted Gift

“… (specific assets, specific amount, remainder or percentage of estate) to the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson, an Arizona nonprofit corporation, Tucson, Arizona, to be used in the area of greatest need at the time the gift is received as determined by the Catholic Foundation’s Board of Directors.”

Restricted Gift

“… (specific assets, specific amount, remainder or percentage of estate) to the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson, an Arizona nonprofit corporation, Tucson, Arizona, to benefit [insert name of diocese, parish, school, ministry or program]. These monies shall be used for ____________________.”

Endowment Gift (to Establish a New Endowment)

“… (specific assets, specific amount, remainder or percentage of estate) to the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson, an Arizona nonprofit corporation, Tucson, Arizona, to establish the ________________ Memorial Endowment Fund to benefit _____________________. Payouts declared from the endowment fund shall be used for _____________________, The endowment fund will be managed by the Catholic Foundation in accordance with their investment policies as established from time to time.”
